Cold Storage Facilities

Turnkey cold chain facilities built from a highly insulated envelope, refrigeration equipment and a galvanised load-bearing structure.

Cold Storage Facilities

A cold storage facility is the one building on this list where the load-bearing structure alone is not enough. Three things have to work at the same time: envelope, equipment and frame.

The envelope determines the insulation. Panel thickness, joint sealing and door gaskets are considered together — most of the cooling load arises from leakage rather than from equipment capacity.

The equipment holds the internal temperature. The compressor and condenser group and the evaporators inside the rooms are sized for the regime the product requires; a frozen store and a fresh produce room can run at different regimes within the same facility.

The frame carries both. The galvanised load-bearing system takes the load of the panel envelope and of the equipment suspended from the ceiling, and resists corrosion under high-humidity conditions.

Facilities are designed to the required dimensions and delivered turnkey: insulation, structure and refrigeration are considered together within a single scope.
