Light Steel Structures
Load-bearing system combining purpose-formed and light steel sections; single and multi-storey homes, villas, health buildings and relocatable houses.

Light steel is the only living-space system on this list. The other nine types are built for production, storage and shelter; this one is for buildings that are lived in.
The load-bearing system combines purpose-formed structural sections with light steel sections. Its defining characteristic is low self-weight — and the first place that shows is the foundation: the load transferred to the ground is markedly lower than for a concrete building carrying the same programme.
The second consequence is in the number of storeys. The system is built on the same logic from a single-storey country house to a multi-storey residential block; what changes is section size and bay spacing, not the system itself.
That is also why programmes as far apart as a health centre and a tiny house gather under one heading: what they share is not the use but the load-bearing system.
Our housing catalogue, with its ready models and floor-area options, sits in a separate section — this page describes the structural system, the catalogue describes finished models.
